The Kudu, especially the older majestic bulls with their large spiral horns (Kudu cows do not have horns), is a favourite of the antelope species amongst many guests to see while on a game-viewing drive at Safari and Game Lodges.

This antelope species occur throughout South Africa and are mainly browsers, preferring leaves (especially from Acacia species), seed-pods, fresh growth of plants and shrubs, but at times may nibble on new growth of grass (shoots).

In the Northern parts of South Africa, some areas besides Kruger National Park to find Kudus are at Madikwe Game Reserve and Welgevonden Private Game Reserve.
