ACCOMMODATION
The en-suite standard rooms and standard thatched rooms are ideally situated in the beautiful hotel gardens and can accommodate between 2 and 4 guests.
The deluxe suites have a private veranda and garden and the Inter-leading family deluxe rooms accommodate up to four guests in either twin or double beds. All hotel rooms with en-suite bathrooms with both bath and shower, provide tea and coffee making facilities, heaters, telephones and televisions.
The luxurious executive or honeymoon rooms, boast a large four poster bed, television, and telephone, mini bar fridge, electric fireplace, under floor heating, spa bath, and private veranda with spectacular mountain views.
The Presidential Suite boasts a fireplace, spa bath, steam bath, under floor heating, two televisions with full DSTV, air-conditioning, and electric curtains opening onto a private veranda with fantastic mountain views. Guests staying in the Presidential Suite will have the use of a private golf cart for the duration of their stay.

WILDLIFE & NATURE
The area of Cathedral Peak is surrounded by wilderness and guests at the hotel can enjoy some of the most spectacular mountain scenery imaginable. The peak is bordered by Mdedeleo and Mlambonja wilderness areas. A selection of meandering trails through mountain scenery, streams, waterfalls, pools and overgrown trees make wandering this terrain a unique walking experience.
The mountains of uKhahlamba Drakensberg Park are one of only 28 World Heritage Sites that are of both cultural and natural global significance. Besides the spectacular views, the peaks, valleys, marshlands and hills are brimming with various wildlife. There are more than 2500 plant species in the Drakensberg Alpine Centre, of which 334 are found nowhere else, while 594 of these are near-endemic.
The area is one of southern Africa’s eight major centres of diversity of amphibians and reptiles. Birdlife is abundant with 311 bird species recorded in the area, including the vulnerable Cape vulture and the endangered Bearded vulture. At least 44 dragonfly and 74 butterfly species were recorded in the area.
There are 64 animal species in the park. The park protects the country’s largest populations of Cape clawless otter and spotted-necked otter, both of which thrive in the streams and rivers that flow off the Drakensberg mountains.
uKhahlamba-Drakensberg has one of the most concentrated collections of rock paintings in the world. There are more than 40 000 individual paintings across 1000 caves and shelters.
The oldest paintings date back approximately 7000 years but on average, most of the art is approximately 4 000 years old. The Drakensberg has some of the world’s most concentrated collections of rock art.
